Castelfondo is located in the heart of Val di Non. The Latteria Sociale di Castelfondo was founded in 1955 and the dairy has developed steadily ever since. New members from neighbouring villages (Brez, Salobbi, Lauregno, Senale and San Felice, municipalities in the province of Bolzano that border Castelfondo) joined the coop over the years.  

There are three shops, one at the dairy, one in Brez and one in Lana.
